The Kalka Ji flyover in South Delhi has been closed because of construction work linked to the extension of the Modi Mill flyover, forcing motorists to use service lanes, signal crossings and alternative turns to reach Nehru Place and nearby areas.
The closure affects traffic on the Outer Ring Road and has changed the usual route for vehicles travelling from Modi Mill towards Nehru Place. According to a report by Jagran – New Delhi, motorists are now required to take the service lane and cross through the traffic signal at Maa Anandmayi Marg before continuing towards their destination.
Vehicles coming from Okhla Phase III are being diverted through the Govindpuri Metro Station area. Drivers travelling from that side are taking a U-turn near the station, reaching the T-point of the Kalka Ji flyover and turning left to proceed towards Nehru Place.
The changes have also affected traffic moving towards Lajpat Nagar. Construction activity near the Okhla NSIC Metro station has narrowed the road, resulting in congestion for vehicles using that corridor. The combination of the flyover closure and the reduced road width is placing additional pressure on nearby surface routes.
