JDA Initiates Largest Ever Eviction Drive to Restore Jaipur’s New Sanganer Artery

Jaipur, India – The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is gearing up for its most expansive eviction drive yet, targeting 615 encroachments along the bustling stretch between Mansarovar Metro station and RIICO Flyover on New Sanganer Road. Scheduled to commence on June 26, this initiative comes in response to a recent High Court directive aimed at reclaiming public space and enhancing urban infrastructure.

Spanning approximately 6 kilometers, the affected area, originally designed to accommodate a 200-feet wide thoroughfare, has seen its effective width shrink to a mere 80-85 feet due to encroachments on both sides. This congestion has not only hindered vehicular movement but also posed significant challenges to urban mobility and safety.

In preparation for the ambitious drive, JDA has mobilized five specialized teams comprising a total of 27 members. These teams include administrative officials tasked with overseeing the eviction process and handling potential public resistance, as well as engineering teams led by Chief Engineer Devendra Gupta. Their mandate includes ensuring the smooth execution of the eviction, addressing any engineering challenges, and mitigating disruptions to local residents and businesses.

“This eviction drive is pivotal in our efforts to restore New Sanganer Road to its originally planned width of 200 feet,” affirmed a senior JDA official. “Once completed, we anticipate a substantial reduction in traffic congestion, thereby enhancing the overall urban experience for residents and commuters alike.”

The operation underscores JDA’s commitment to urban renewal and infrastructure development in Jaipur, aligning with broader efforts to optimize public spaces and improve connectivity across the city. By adhering to judicial mandates and leveraging strategic planning, the authority aims to set a precedent for effective governance and sustainable urban growth.

With anticipation building ahead of the June 26 commencement, stakeholders are poised to witness firsthand the transformative impact of this landmark eviction drive on Jaipur’s urban landscape and transportation dynamics.

In conclusion, as the city prepares for this significant endeavor, all eyes are on the JDA to execute this operation efficiently, setting a benchmark for civic governance and urban revitalization in Rajasthan’s capital.
