Infosys has expanded its Indore Development Center with a new 330,000-sq. ft. Software Development Block at its campus on the city’s Super Corridor, strengthening the company’s technology presence in Central India and its capacity to hire and develop local talent.
The new facility, identified as SDB-2, was inaugurated in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Indore Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani and Manoj Nirbhay Singh Patel, a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Senior Infosys executives, including Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka, Executive Vice President Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar and Senior Vice President Niladri Prasad Mishra, also attended the event.
Infosys said its Indore Development Center currently has more than 3,300 employees supporting global clients in banking, financial services and insurance, retail, life sciences and manufacturing. The expanded center will focus on capabilities including cloud services, application development, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and cybersecurity.
The company said the additional space would enable it to tap into Central India’s talent pool while supporting work for global clients. The expansion is also intended to deepen Infosys’ engagement with Madhya Pradesh’s academic and technology ecosystem through skilling programmes and institutional partnerships.
Infosys identified IIT Indore, IIM Indore and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya as institutions with which it plans to engage as part of that effort. The company did not disclose a specific number of new jobs expected from the 330,000-sq. ft. block in the announcement.
The expansion places the Super Corridor campus within Indore’s broader effort to build a technology and services economy beyond the country’s established metropolitan hubs. For the city, the immediate significance is not only the addition of office space but also the connection between a major technology employer, local universities and the state’s employment objectives.
Yadav said Indore was emerging as an important technology hub because of its talent base and growing innovation ecosystem. He said Infosys’ investment would create employment opportunities for the state’s skilled youth and strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s technology ecosystem.
Sanghrajka said the expansion reflected Infosys’ continuing investment in talent, innovation and digital capabilities. He said the facility would help the company leverage the region’s talent pool, strengthen its capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud and digital technologies, and deliver greater value to global clients.
The company also described the project as part of its long-term commitment to Madhya Pradesh through continued investment and high-quality employment opportunities. The announcement did not provide details of the capital expenditure involved, the construction timeline for the block or the number of additional employees to be accommodated.
The next phase of the expansion will therefore depend on how the new facility is used, the scale of recruitment and the implementation of the proposed skilling and institutional partnerships with Indore’s academic ecosystem.
