Hyderabad Strengthens GCC Leadership With T-Mobile Expansion

Hyderabad has added another major global technology investment to its growing innovation ecosystem as T-Mobile launched its first India technology hub in the city. The new facility marks the telecommunications giant’s first global capability centre outside the United States and further strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a preferred destination for multinational technology operations.

Located in Hitech City, the new centre spans approximately 250,000 square feet and will operate through T-Mobile’s subsidiary, TMUS Global Solutions Technology. The company has already onboarded more than 500 professionals and plans to expand its workforce to nearly 1,000 employees by 2027. The Hyderabad hub will support several strategic technology functions, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, DevOps, software engineering, product development and enterprise digital solutions. These capabilities are expected to play a critical role in strengthening T-Mobile’s global engineering and digital transformation initiatives. Industry experts note that Hyderabad continues to attract large-scale global capability centres due to its strong talent ecosystem, mature technology infrastructure and expanding innovation landscape. The city has emerged as one of India’s leading destinations for multinational corporations seeking to establish technology, research and digital engineering operations.

According to company leadership, Hyderabad was selected because of its deep pool of skilled technology professionals and its well-established innovation environment. The city’s ability to support large-scale recruitment and specialised digital talent requirements continues to attract investments from global enterprises across sectors. The development also reflects Hyderabad’s growing importance within India’s GCC ecosystem. The city currently hosts hundreds of global capability centres across technology, financial services, healthcare, engineering and telecommunications sectors, generating significant employment and investment opportunities.

Economic analysts believe the addition of another major international technology centre will further strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a key digital infrastructure and innovation hub. Large-scale GCC investments not only create high-skilled employment opportunities but also contribute to the growth of supporting industries, startup ecosystems and knowledge-based services. As global enterprises continue expanding their India operations, Hyderabad’s combination of talent availability, infrastructure readiness and business-friendly policies is expected to drive further investments in advanced technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation projects.
