Hyderabad: South Central Railway has intensified its review of rail infrastructure and station modernisation across key sections of Hyderabad’s suburban network, with a renewed focus on passenger safety, operational efficiency and ongoing station redevelopment projects.
A detailed inspection covered railway infrastructure between Secunderabad and Shankarpalli, where officials assessed track conditions, signalling systems, operational speeds and bridge infrastructure alongside passenger amenities. The review forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the reliability and safety of one of the region’s busiest rail corridors. The inspection also evaluated progress under the railway station redevelopment programme at multiple stations. At Hitech City railway station, officials reviewed work being carried out under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, including improvements to passenger circulation areas, platforms, foot overbridges, signalling systems and other operational facilities. Transport experts say modernising railway stations is increasingly important as Hyderabad’s expanding metropolitan region generates higher commuter demand. At Nagalapalli and Kacheguda stations, officials inspected passenger facilities, circulation areas, foot overbridges and station access points.
