Hyderabad Passport Mela to Release 4,000 Slots on November 3

The Hyderabad Regional Passport Office will hold a Passport Mela on November 21 and release around 4,000 appointments for passport and Police Clearance Certificate services, in a special drive aimed at addressing rising demand and appointment waiting periods.

Regional Passport Officer, Hyderabad, Madhav R Sulphule, announced the initiative in an official press statement issued on Monday. The appointments will be made available from November 3 to applicants seeking services at Passport Seva Kendras and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras under the jurisdiction of the Hyderabad RPO.

The appointment release will cover three service categories: Normal Passport, Tatkal Passport and Police Clearance Certificate, or PCC. The RPO said the slots would be available across all PSKs and POPSKs within its jurisdiction.

The Passport Mela is intended to provide applicants with an additional opportunity to secure appointments as demand for passport-related services increases. The regional office cited the growing demand and waiting period for appointments as the reason for organising the special drive.

Applicants who require a new passport, passport-related services under the Normal or Tatkal categories, or a PCC can use the appointments released for the November 21 drive. The RPO has urged eligible applicants to make use of the facility to obtain their passports.

The announcement places the appointment release date ahead of the service day, giving applicants access to the slots from November 3. The statement did not specify the number of appointments allocated to each service category or provide a separate centre-wise distribution of the 4,000 slots.

Passport Seva Kendras and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras serve as the public-facing points for passport applications and related verification processes. By extending the special drive across all such centres under the Hyderabad RPO, the initiative is structured as a regional appointment release rather than a single-centre camp.

The November 21 Passport Mela will therefore function as a designated service day for applicants who secure one of the appointments released on November 3. Further details on appointment availability and the applicable process will be accessed through the passport service system used for the relevant centres.
