A three-year-old boy, Mohammed Izhaan, was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Sweekar Hotel at IS Sadan in Hyderabad on Saturday night, police said. The vehicle involved, identified as an XUV, fled the scene after hitting the child.
Izhaan, a resident of Santosh Nagar Colony, was crossing the road with his parents after accompanying them for dinner when the incident occurred, according to the police account reported by Telangana Today.
The child was shifted to Owaisi Hospital in Kanchanbagh immediately after the collision. Doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead.
Police said the driver of the XUV was absconding after the accident. A case was being registered, and efforts were under way to identify and trace the driver.
