Hyderabad Ganesh pandals will receive round-the-clock power infrastructure monitoring during the festivities, with Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) arranging free electricity connections, backup systems and emergency response teams across the State. The measures are intended to maintain uninterrupted supply and improve electrical safety at pandal locations from idol installation until the final immersion procession.
TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V Patil reviewed the preparations at the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh pandal on Sunday, ahead of the festivities commencing on Monday. During the inspection, he examined the electrical arrangements and safety measures and interacted with representatives of the Ganesh Utsav Committee about power supply, backup systems and emergency response mechanisms.
Officials also reviewed distribution transformers, alternate power supply systems and emergency backup facilities around the Khairatabad pandal premises. According to a TGSPDCL press release, additional staff have been deployed wherever required to support monitoring and respond to operational needs during the festival period.
The power utility has directed officials to continuously monitor electrical lines, service connections and the distribution network in and around pandal areas. The arrangements cover the period beginning with the installation of the idol and continuing through the immersion procession, when large public gatherings and extended operating hours place additional demands on temporary event infrastructure.
TGSPDCL has also facilitated complaint registration through the 1912 call centre. The utility said the helpline would support responses to power-related complaints during the festivities, while emergency response teams would be available for issues requiring on-ground intervention.
After visiting Khairatabad, Patil inspected arrangements at the Balapur Ganesh pandal. He met Kallem Niranjan Reddy, president of the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Committee, and other committee members to understand local requirements and the planned power supply arrangements.
The inspections place temporary festival infrastructure within the wider responsibility of the distribution network. Pandal lighting, service connections, transformers and backup systems must operate alongside the existing network while public movement continues around the sites. TGSPDCL’s stated approach combines dedicated connections with network surveillance and emergency staffing rather than relying only on routine supply arrangements.
At both locations, the CMD assured organisers that measures had been taken to ensure uninterrupted electricity for devotees. The utility’s monitoring plan will remain in place until the final immersion procession, with officials responsible for observing the electrical network and addressing requirements reported by committees or through the 1912 call centre.
