The Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has arranged dedicated electricity connections, backup systems and round-the-clock monitoring at Ganesh pandals across Telangana as festivities begin, with senior officials inspecting arrangements at Hyderabad’s Khairatabad and Balapur sites.
TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V Patil visited the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh pandal on Sunday to review electrical installations and safety measures. He met representatives of the Ganesh Utsav Committee and examined the arrangements for power supply, backup systems and emergency response.
According to a TGSPDCL press release, the power utility has provided free electricity connections to pandals and established special supply systems for the festival period. Emergency response teams have also been deployed, while complaints can be registered through the 1912 call centre.
Patil later reviewed the distribution transformers, alternate supply systems and emergency backup facilities around the Khairatabad pandal. The power infrastructure will be monitored continuously from the installation of the idol until the final immersion procession, the utility said. Additional staff have been deployed in locations where required.
Officials have been directed to keep checking electrical lines, service connections and the distribution network in and around pandal areas. The arrangements are intended to maintain uninterrupted electricity supply while addressing electrical safety risks at crowded public locations during the festivities.
Patil subsequently visited the Balapur Ganesh pandal and met Kallem Niranjan Reddy, president of the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Committee, along with other committee members. The discussions covered local requirements and the power supply arrangements for the festival.
The CMD assured the Balapur committee that necessary measures had been taken to maintain uninterrupted electricity supply for devotees. TGSPDCL said its monitoring and emergency-response arrangements would remain in place through the final immersion procession.
