A Hyderabad food safety crackdown has shut five sweet shops and led officials to seize or discard 3,546.5 kg of food articles worth Rs 16.86 lakh after inspections found alleged licensing violations, unhygienic conditions and suspected adulteration across the city. The action was carried out by joint teams of Telangana’s food safety authority and police.
