Hyderabad Extends CURE Affordable Housing Deadline To August 15

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has extended the application deadline for its CURE affordable housing scheme by five days, giving eligible homebuyers until August 15 to apply for subsidised flats across 16 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region.

The extension follows a surge in applications during the weekend and consecutive public holidays. Officials said the additional time is intended to ensure more eligible families can complete the application process without affecting the project timeline. The first phase of the programme will deliver 7,680 affordable flats through high-rise housing developments across Hyderabad. Each home will have a built-up area of 528 sq ft with a 400 sq ft carpet area.

The State will provide a ₹5 lakh subsidy for every flat, while beneficiaries will contribute ₹6 lakh in four instalments. Demand for the scheme has remained strong. Applications increased from 35,125 before the weekend to 46,121 by Monday evening, reflecting continued interest in affordable urban housing despite the limited number of units available in the first phase. Among the constituencies, Kukatpally recorded the highest number of applications, followed by Quthbullapur and Khairatabad, highlighting strong demand in Hyderabad’s western urban corridor. While extending the deadline, the government has directed officials to continue scrutiny of applications without delay.

The aim is to complete beneficiary selection and allotment by the end of the month, ensuring construction and allocation schedules remain on track. The CURE initiative forms part of Telangana’s broader plan to develop one lakh affordable homes across Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region. The programme is designed to improve access to formal housing for lower- and middle-income households while supporting planned urban growth. Applications can be submitted through MeeSeva centres, the official housing portal, or the government’s designated WhatsApp service until August 15.
