At a recent meeting of the civic body’s governing authorities, officials endorsed a proposal seeking financial support for emergency monsoon operations while simultaneously approving a series of infrastructure projects aimed at addressing long-standing urban challenges. The decisions come as seasonal rainfall places increasing pressure on drainage networks, transport systems and public services across the metropolitan region. A major focus of the discussions was enhancing the city’s capacity for disaster preparedness and rapid response during the monsoon.
