Hyderabad Chikki Factory Gets ₹40 Crore Expansion Boost

Hyderabad-based millet snack maker Troo Good plans to invest around ₹40 crore in a 1,00,000 sq ft chikki manufacturing facility in the city, a move the company says will double its current capacity and expand production of millet chikkis and nutrition bars.

The proposed Alpha factory is expected to become operational soon and has been described by Troo Good as India’s largest state-of-the-art chikki manufacturing facility. The project will add to Hyderabad’s food-processing and manufacturing base while supporting the company’s plans to meet rising retail and institutional demand for affordable nutrition.

Troo Good’s announcement comes alongside the opening of its seventh manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The new plant adds 350 tonnes of monthly capacity, taking the company’s overall output to 5 crore millet chikkis and nutrition bars a month, according to the company.

The company said its manufacturing network now spans 90,000 sq ft across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. It has commissioned three facilities in 2026, increasing its total number of units from four in early 2025 to seven currently. Over the same period, monthly manufacturing output has risen 2.5 times, from about 480 tonnes to 1,200 tonnes.

The expansion places Hyderabad at the centre of Troo Good’s manufacturing growth. The company said the new facilities will support local job creation and contribute to domestic food manufacturing, although it did not specify the number of jobs expected from the proposed Alpha factory or the newly opened plant.

Raju Bhupati, founder and chief executive officer of Troo Good, said the expansion was driven by increasing consumer demand for snacks that combine taste, nutrition and affordability. The company’s growth also reflects the infrastructure requirements of food manufacturing, including factory space, production capacity and distribution networks capable of serving both retail and institutional buyers.

Troo Good currently caters to seven states through more than 250 distributors and nearly 60,000 schools in eight states. Its institutional reach makes manufacturing capacity particularly relevant to the reliability and scale of nutrition-snack supply, though the company did not provide a separate breakdown of sales or supply volumes across those markets.

The planned Alpha factory and the new Hyderabad facility will therefore expand the city’s role in the company’s production network. Troo Good has not announced a specific commissioning date for the 1,00,000 sq ft plant beyond saying that it is expected to become operational soon.
