Hyderabad Airport Bus Fares Slashed by Up to 40% on Six Routes

Hyderabad airport bus fares have been reduced by up to 40 per cent on six Pushpak AC bus routes connecting different parts of the city with Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with the revised rates taking effect from Wednesday.

The fare changes were announced by Greater Hyderabad RTC authorities, who said the reduction was intended to make airport travel more affordable and encourage greater use of Pushpak AC services. The revised fares affect routes serving Miyapur X Road, Gachibowli, Lingampally, Alwyn X Road, Kothaguda and Shilparamam.

Passengers travelling from Miyapur X Road to Gachibowli will now pay Rs 250, down from Rs 350. The fare from Lingampally to the airport has been reduced from Rs 350 to Rs 200, while the Alwyn X Road–Airport fare has also been cut from Rs 350 to Rs 200.

The largest reductions in absolute terms apply to three routes that previously charged Rs 300 per ticket. Fares from Kothaguda to the airport, Gachibowli to the airport and Shilparamam to the airport have each been reduced to Rs 150.

The changes place the Pushpak service at a lower price point for passengers travelling to the airport from several major residential, commercial and transit-linked areas in western Hyderabad. The fare reduction could also affect the travel choices of passengers who compare direct bus services with other road-based options, although the RTC has not provided passenger-use or revenue projections in the information available.

Pushpak buses provide an airport connection from multiple points across the Greater Hyderabad region. The revised fares cover six routes listed by the RTC authorities, but the announcement does not specify whether fares on other Pushpak routes have changed or whether additional services will be introduced.

The revised rates are now in effect. The RTC has described the measure as an effort to make airport travel more affordable and increase use of its air-conditioned airport bus network.
