The Greater Noida Authority has recently issued permission for the registry of 56 apartments in the Senior Citizen Society, located in Sector Pi-3. This marks a significant milestone for the residents, who have been living in the complex without official registries for the past 25 years. The completion of these registries signifies the conferral of ownership rights to these long-awaiting homeowners, bringing a long-standing issue to resolution.
As per the authority’s officials, a total of 200 flats have now been registered, following the recent completion of 56 additional registries. The Senior Citizen Society consists of 800 apartments, and the remaining apartments are expected to follow suit as the authority continues its efforts. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had announced a policy in December 2023 to facilitate the clearance of dues and execution of registries for stalled legacy housing projects. This policy has paved the way for thousands of homebuyers to finally obtain legal ownership of their homes.
The recent registry permissions are part of a broader initiative by the Greater Noida Authority to resolve long-pending issues in the real estate sector. In March, the authority began executing registries for the first 200 apartments after the developer settled outstanding dues. The current batch of 56 apartments is the latest to benefit from this ongoing campaign. The authority’s housing and finance departments have been directed to address any legal impediments that may delay the process, ensuring a smooth transition for all involved parties.
To facilitate the process, the Greater Noida Authority has organised registry camps within the society. These camps are designed to streamline the formalities, making it convenient for residents to complete the necessary paperwork. Representatives from the authority, the registry department, and the developer are present at these camps to assist with the process. The additional official of the Greater Noida Authority confirmed that the campaign would continue until all registries in the society are finalised.
This initiative is a significant step towards resolving legacy issues in Greater Noida’s real estate sector. It reflects the authority’s commitment to ensuring that residents can secure their rightful ownership and enjoy the benefits of legal recognition of their properties. As the registry process progresses, it not only brings relief to homeowners but also contributes to the overall stabilisation and transparency of the region’s real estate market.
