Greater Noida Authority Allots Plots to 127 Acquired-Land Farmers

The Greater Noida Authority has allotted 6% abadi plots to 127 farmers from Sirsa and Dadha villages, completing a long-pending process linked to the acquisition of their land for urban development. The authority conducted a draw for 88 plots and issued allotment letters for 39 others.

The allotment process was carried out on the directions of Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer N G Ravi Kumar. The draw was conducted under the leadership of Additional CEO Sunil Kumar Singh, with Additional CEO Sumit Yadav present. Authority officials said the process was expedited after farmers approached the CEO seeking allotment of the plots.

The 6% abadi plot provision is connected to the benefits promised to farmers whose land has been acquired by the authority. The allotment of these plots is therefore not only a property distribution exercise but also part of the administrative process through which land-acquisition obligations are addressed as villages are absorbed into the expanding urban area.

According to the authority’s Officer on Special Duty, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Sirsa had 120 plots in total. Of these, 81 were plots of uniform allotment category and were included in the draw. Their sizes range from 40 square metres to 500 square metres. The remaining 39 plots, which have different sizes, were allotted through the issue of individual allotment letters.

Dadha had seven plots in the uniform category, and these were also included in the draw. The authority said allotment letters for these plots would be issued shortly. The process has provided immediate clarity to a group of farmers who had been waiting for their abadi plots after the acquisition of their land.

Sunil Kumar Singh said providing 6% abadi plots to eligible farmers was a priority for the authority. He added that the allotment process would continue for eligible farmers in other villages. The CEO has directed departments handling farmer abadi plots to prioritise cases where eligible farmers have not yet received allotments and complete the process at the earliest.

The development also reflects the administrative complexity of land acquisition around Greater Noida. As the authority develops urban infrastructure and planned settlements, villages and agricultural land become part of a larger urban system. The delivery of promised plots depends on identifying eligible beneficiaries, determining plot sizes, conducting draws where required and issuing formal allotment documents.

Farmers from Sirsa and Dadha welcomed the allotments and thanked elected representatives, the authority’s CEO and officials. They also referred to decisions taken at a recent board meeting, including the reported inclusion of parents as well as parents-in-law in the eligibility framework for abadi plots. The source also reported that the state government has decided to increase compensation for acquired land, although details of the revised compensation were not provided.

The Greater Noida Authority has said that the allotment process for eligible farmers in other villages will continue on a priority basis. The next immediate step for Dadha is the issue of allotment letters to the seven farmers whose plots were included in the draw.
