A seven-and-a-half-hour traffic block at Ghaziabad yard for railway safety work will alter the routes of eight trains on December 4, with several services set to skip scheduled stops across Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and neighbouring stations, according to a report by Jagran – New Delhi.
The work will be carried out in the Delhi division and is expected to affect train movement through the Ghaziabad corridor. The affected services include trains connecting Delhi with Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and the National Capital Region.
The Indore Junction–Una Himachal Express (19307) will run through Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction, Tilak Bridge, Delhi Shahdara, Loni, Shamli and Tapri instead of its usual route. The train will skip its scheduled stop at Meerut City.
The Kota–Dehradun Nanda Devi Express (12401) will also use the Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction–Tilak Bridge–Delhi Shahdara–Loni–Shamli–Tapri–Roorkee route. It will not follow its scheduled route through Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Deoband and Banhera Khas, and will skip stops at Ghaziabad, Meerut City and Muzaffarnagar.
The Bandra Terminus–Haridwar Express (19019) will take the Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction, Tilak Bridge, Delhi Shahdara, Loni, Shamli and Tapri route. Its scheduled stops at Ghaziabad, Meerut City and Muzaffarnagar will be dropped.
The Sabarmati–Yog Nagari Rishikesh Yoga Express (19031) will travel through Old Delhi, Delhi Shahdara, Loni, Shamli and Tapri. It will skip Ghaziabad, New Ghaziabad, Modinagar, Meerut City, Meerut Cantonment, Sakoti Tanda, Muzaffarnagar and Deoband.
The Amritsar–Bandra Terminus Golden Temple Express (12904) will operate through Tapri, Shamli, Loni, Delhi Shahdara, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction. It will not stop at Muzaffarnagar, Sakoti Tanda, Meerut Cantonment, Meerut City or Ghaziabad.
The Dehradun–Kota Nanda Devi Express (12402) will run through Roorkee, Tapri, Shamli, Loni, Delhi Shahdara, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction. The train will skip Muzaffarnagar, Meerut City and Ghaziabad.
The Amritsar–Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Express (18238) will use the Tapri, Shamli, Loni, Delhi Shahdara, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction route. Its skipped stops will include Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Khatauli, Daurala, Meerut Cantonment, Meerut City, Modinagar, Guldhar, Ghaziabad and Sahibabad.
The Kotdwar–Anand Vihar Terminus Express (14090) will travel through Tapri, Shamli, Loni, Delhi Shahdara and Anand Vihar Terminus. It will skip Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut City and Modinagar.
The route changes mean that passengers boarding or alighting at the affected stations will need to check the revised train operation before travelling on December 4. The report did not provide the exact start and end time of the seven-and-a-half-hour block or specify the alternative arrangements for passengers whose scheduled stops will be skipped. The railway safety work at Ghaziabad yard is the stated reason for the temporary changes.
