FLY91 Expands with Noida, Navi Mumbai Bases

Goa-based regional airline FLY91 is set to expand its operations significantly by establishing new bases at the upcoming Noida and Navi Mumbai airports. This move is part of the airline’s broader strategy to enhance its presence in the Indian aviation market.

FLY91, which began its operations in March from Mopa Airport in Goa, currently serves seven destinations with a fleet of two ATR 72-600 aircraft. By the end of this year, FLY91 plans to increase its fleet to six aircraft. This expansion is underpinned by a robust financial strategy, including a recent USD 25 million capital raise. Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO of FLY91, announced the airline’s plans at the CAPA India Aviation Summit 2024. He highlighted the airline’s intent to establish multiple bases across India, with Noida and Navi Mumbai being key locations under consideration. Chacko emphasized the airline’s flexible business model, which allows it to adapt quickly to new opportunities and market conditions. The airline aims to establish five operational bases and connect 50 destinations within the next five years. This ambitious plan is designed to enhance regional connectivity and tap into underserved routes across the country.

The second phase of FLY91’s expansion is scheduled to commence in the next financial year, focusing on further increasing its reach and operational capabilities. The airline’s strategic choice of Noida and Navi Mumbai as new bases aligns with the ongoing infrastructure developments in these regions, promising significant growth potential. FLY91’s expansion strategy includes a strong financial component, with Chacko indicating that the airline aims to achieve break-even in the latter half of the next financial year. This goal reflects the airline’s confidence in its business model and growth prospects. The airline’s focus on regional connectivity with its 70-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft positions it well to serve markets that are currently underserved by larger carriers.

In addition to expanding its fleet and establishing new bases, FLY91 is also looking at innovative ways to enhance operational efficiency and customer service. The airline’s investment in new aircraft and infrastructure is expected to provide a significant boost to its operational capabilities, allowing it to offer more frequent and reliable services to its passengers. The new bases at Noida and Navi Mumbai are strategically important for FLY91. These airports are expected to handle significant passenger traffic and offer extensive connectivity options, which will enhance FLY91’s operational footprint. The establishment of these bases will not only improve regional connectivity but also contribute to the economic development of these regions.

FLY91’s strategic expansion into Noida and Navi Mumbai airports marks a significant milestone in its growth journey. With a clear vision, robust financial backing, and a flexible business model, the airline is well-positioned to achieve its ambitious goals and enhance regional connectivity across India. This expansion underscores FLY91’s commitment to becoming a major player in the regional aviation market.
