A significant fire broke out at a plastic goods manufacturing company within an industrial complex in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday evening, causing extensive damage to multiple units and godowns in the area.
The blaze, which started at approximately 8.30 pm in the Achole area, fortunately resulted in no casualties, according to fire officials. The fire, which initially erupted at a single plastic goods manufacturing unit, quickly spread to adjacent establishments within the industrial complex. The nature of the materials involved, predominantly plastic products, exacerbated the blaze, making it more challenging to control. An official from the Achole fire station confirmed that the exact number of affected units and warehouses has yet to be determined.
In response to the emergency, five fire engines were dispatched to the scene to combat the flames. As of Monday morning, firefighting efforts were still ongoing, with teams working diligently to extinguish the fire and prevent further spread. Authorities are also conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time. While no injuries or fatalities have been reported, the financial and operational impact on the affected businesses is likely to be substantial. The disruption caused by the fire will necessitate a period of recovery and rebuilding for the impacted units, which include numerous plastic goods manufacturers. As the investigation progresses, authorities aim to identify any lapses in safety protocols that may have contributed to the incident, with a view to preventing similar occurrences in the future. The focus remains on fully extinguishing the blaze and assessing the full extent of the damage to the industrial complex in Palghar.
