Delhi weather tomorrow is expected to remain dry, with mainly clear skies from October 18 and maximum temperatures likely to rise to 32–34 degrees Celsius on October 21 and 22, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The forecast comes as several parts of southern India prepare for rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds over the coming days.
The IMD has forecast no rainfall in Delhi until October 22. Temperatures in the national Capital are expected to increase during the forecast period, with the maximum likely to reach 32–34 degrees Celsius on October 21 and 22. The department’s outlook indicates that Delhi will see largely settled conditions while rainfall activity continues elsewhere.
The northeastern region is also expected to remain largely dry from Sasthi, or Bodhan, to Vijaya Dashami on October 21. An IMD official said dry weather is very likely across all eight northeastern states: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Maximum temperatures in the region are likely to remain 2–4 degrees Celsius above normal over the next five days, while minimum temperatures are expected to stay near normal.
In southern India, the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds reaching up to 60 kmph are also likely in these areas. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may receive isolated to scattered rainfall, followed by fairly widespread to widespread rainfall between October 19 and 20. Rayalaseema is expected to experience fairly widespread to widespread rainfall through October 20.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall through October 22. The IMD has also forecast isolated heavy rainfall in these areas on October 21 and 22, alongside fairly widespread to widespread rainfall during the ongoing spell.
Kerala and south interior Karnataka are expected to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall in the coming days. Coastal Karnataka may see widespread showers through October 22, while south interior Karnataka is likely to experience similar rainfall activity during the same period. Isolated heavy rainfall is possible in south interior Karnataka from October 19 to 22. North interior Karnataka is forecast to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall on October 19 and 20.
Telangana may receive isolated to scattered rainfall through October 22. Uttarakhand is likely to receive rainfall on October 19, with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds also possible. Lakshadweep is expected to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall through October 22, with winds of 30–40 kmph and gusts reaching up to 50 kmph likely on October 19.
The IMD’s latest forecast identifies Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, south interior Karnataka and coastal Karnataka as the areas likely to see fairly widespread to widespread rainfall during the ongoing spell. The forecast period for the affected regions extends through October 22, while Delhi is expected to remain dry until the same date.
