Delhi Opposition Rally Draws Major Bus Mobilisation for November 1

Preparations have intensified for the INDIA alliance rally scheduled at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1, with the Congress forming 20 committees and arranging hundreds of buses to transport participants from Delhi and other states. The party says up to 10 lakh people could attend the gathering.

The rally is being organised to protest alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, according to the Congress. The party has assigned separate committees to manage accommodation, the stage, the venue, sanitation and social media operations.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devendra Yadav is overseeing the preparations. The report said observers appointed by the All India Congress Committee and district in-charges of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee are holding meetings in different districts. These meetings are being used to mobilise booth-level workers and coordinate participation in the rally.

The Congress has said that people from Delhi and other states will be brought to Ramlila Maidan in hundreds of buses. The figure of 10 lakh expected participants is a party estimate and was not independently verified in the report. The scale of the planned mobilisation makes transport coordination and venue management central to the event’s organisation.

The arrangements also include accommodation for participants travelling from outside Delhi. The party has given its committees responsibility for managing the event site and maintaining cleanliness. A report accompanying the preparations noted that rainwater had accumulated at Ramlila Maidan, where the rally is scheduled to take place.

Yadav said that meetings at the district level had received a positive response from Congress workers and members of the public, according to the report. He said party leaders and workers were working to make the rally successful following appeals by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

The rally’s immediate operational requirements will involve coordinating arrivals, accommodation, venue access, sanitation and internet communication among organisers. The Congress has not provided a detailed public timetable for bus movements or other arrangements in the supplied report. The next major milestone is the scheduled gathering at Ramlila Maidan on November 1.
