Delhi Metro services will follow revised timings on Diwali on 8 November 2026, with the last trains departing from terminal stations at 10 pm instead of the usual 11 pm. On selected corridors, morning services will also begin an hour earlier at 6 am.
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the revised schedule will apply across all metro lines, including the Airport Express Line, for the evening service. Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys according to the earlier last-train timing and check the DMRC website and official social media channels for further information.
The Pink Line, Magenta Line and Grey Line will have earlier morning starts on the day. On the Pink Line, services will begin at 6 am from the terminal stations on the Majlis Park–Majlis Park/Shiv Vihar corridor. The Magenta Line services will also start at 6 am on the Botanical Garden–Krishna Park Extension and Majlis Park–Deepali Chowk sections. On the Grey Line, trains will begin at 6 am on the Dwarka Kakrola–Dhansa Bus Stand corridor.
These corridors generally begin services at 7 am on Sundays, making the Diwali schedule an advance start for passengers using the affected routes. The DMRC said that daytime services would continue as usual, although the evening network-wide closing time will be brought forward by one hour.
The timing change is intended to account for Diwali celebrations and enable metro employees to spend the festival with their families, according to the report. The operational adjustment therefore affects the end of service rather than a suspension of daytime connectivity across the network.
For passengers travelling in the evening, the earlier closing time means that the final train from a terminal station will depart at 10 pm. The timing of the last train reaching an individual intermediate station can vary depending on the route and direction, so commuters have been advised not to wait until the network-wide terminal departure deadline.
The announcement is particularly relevant for passengers making festival-related trips across Delhi and the National Capital Region, where the metro is a major high-capacity public transport option. Travellers using interchange stations or connecting with the Airport Express Line will need to allow sufficient time for transfers before the revised final departures.
The DMRC has directed passengers to consult its official website and verified social media handles for detailed service information and any further updates before travelling on 8 November.
