Delhi Bus Connectivity Plan Targets Jewar Airport Access
The Delhi government is preparing to introduce direct public bus connectivity between the capital and Noida International Airport in Jewar, aiming to improve affordable access for passengers travelling to the newly operational aviation hub. The proposed service will connect major interstate transport points in Delhi with the airport, marking a significant step towards integrating NCR’s expanding transport network.
The proposed Jewar Airport Connectivity plan is expected to include bus operations from key terminals such as Anand Vihar and Kashmere Gate. Officials involved in the process said discussions are underway between transport authorities of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to establish an interstate agreement that will allow regular services to operate across state boundaries. The move comes as the airport begins shaping passenger movement patterns across the National Capital Region. While private vehicles currently provide direct access, urban transport planners have highlighted the need for reliable public mobility options to ensure airport connectivity does not remain dependent on personal transport. Experts note that large infrastructure projects often require supporting transport ecosystems to deliver wider economic benefits. Improved bus links could help passengers from eastern and northern parts of Delhi access the airport more conveniently while also supporting workers, service providers and nearby communities connected to the aviation-led development corridor.

Urban planners believe that airport-linked bus services should be designed with long-term integration in mind, including coordinated schedules, last-mile connectivity and accessible facilities for elderly passengers, women travellers and daily commuters.
