Delhi-Ashoknagar Special Train Adds 24 Coaches for September Rush

Indian Railways will run a 24-coach special train between Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ashoknagar on September 17 and 21 to manage additional passenger demand linked to the gathering at Anandpur Trust for the 100th birth anniversary of Shri 108 Guru Maharaj, according to the West Central Railway’s Bhopal division.

Train number 04004 will leave Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 12:15 pm on September 17 and reach Ashoknagar at 3 am on September 18. In the return direction, train number 04003 will depart Ashoknagar at 5 pm on September 21 and arrive at Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 8:45 am on September 22.

The outbound service will stop at Faridabad at 1:40 pm, Kosi Kalan at 2:55 pm, Mathura Junction at 4:35 pm, Gangapur City Junction at 6:35 pm, Sogaria at 9:20 pm and Guna at 1:35 am before reaching Ashoknagar. The train is scheduled to make one trip in this direction.

The return service will halt at Guna at 6:10 pm, Sogaria at 9:40 pm, Gangapur City Junction at 12:15 am, Mathura Junction at 4:20 am, Kosi Kalan at 4:58 am and Faridabad at 7:10 am before reaching Delhi Sarai Rohilla. This service will also make one trip.

The special train will have 24 coaches, including one third AC coach, two sleeper coaches, 19 general-category coaches and two SLR coaches. The composition indicates that most of the additional capacity will be provided through general and sleeper accommodation, while a smaller air-conditioned facility will also be available.

The decision follows the Railway’s assessment of additional passenger and devotee movement connected with the event at Anandpur Trust. For travellers using the service, the scheduled halts at Faridabad, Kosi Kalan, Mathura, Gangapur City, Sogaria and Guna connect the special train to several important stations along the Delhi-Madhya Pradesh route.

Separately, railway operations in Chhattisgarh will be affected by track-doubling work between Urkura and Raipur Store Depot. Ten passenger trains will remain cancelled on September 13 and 14, while two MEMU passenger services will be shortened.

On September 13, the cancelled services include the Raipur-Bilaspur MEMU Passenger, Bilaspur-Gevra Road MEMU Passenger, Gevra Road-Bilaspur MEMU Passenger, Bilaspur-Raipur MEMU Passenger, Korba-Raipur Passenger, Raipur-Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Passenger and Raipur-Gevra Road MEMU Passenger. On September 14, the Raipur-Korba Passenger, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari-Raipur Passenger and Gevra Road-Raipur MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled.

The Jharsuguda-Gondia MEMU Passenger will run only up to Bilaspur on September 13, while the return Gondia-Jharsuguda service will originate from Bilaspur instead of Gondia. The Delhi-Ashoknagar special train is scheduled to operate on September 17 and 21 as notified by the Bhopal division spokesperson.
