Delhi train changes will affect around 120 services between September 11 and 13, with Northern Railway altering the operation of several Rajdhani, Tejas Rajdhani, Vande Bharat, long-distance, EMU and MEMU trains passing through the Delhi division.
The changes include cancellations, diversions, rescheduled departures, regulated running and modifications to the starting or terminating stations. Passengers travelling through New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Palwal, Delhi Shahdara and Hazrat Nizamuddin have been advised to check their train status before leaving for the station.
According to the operational plan reported by Aaj Tak Business, the changes have been made for operational reasons. Some services will use alternative routes through locations including Delhi Junction, Shahdara, Sahibabad, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin.
On September 11, several major trains, including the New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani, New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani, New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani, New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani and New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani, are scheduled to run on diverted routes. The Sampoorna Kranti Express and some EMU services will also be affected.
Several local services are scheduled to be cancelled on September 11, including services between Palwal and Shakurbasti, Ghaziabad and New Delhi, New Delhi and Palwal, and Delhi Junction and Shamli. Some trains will begin or end their journeys at different stations. The Haryana Express, for example, is listed to originate from Tilak Bridge instead of New Delhi, while one New Delhi-Aligarh EMU is scheduled to originate from Ghaziabad.
Long-distance services will also face departure changes. The New Delhi-Hyderabad Express and Grand Trunk Express are listed for 120-minute rescheduling on September 11, while the Paschim Express is scheduled to depart 90 minutes late. Other services, including Tejas Rajdhani trains and the Tamil Nadu Express, have revised departure timings during the three-day period.
On September 12, multiple Ghaziabad-New Delhi and Delhi Junction-Ghaziabad EMU services are scheduled to be cancelled. The Palwal-Shakurbasti EMU is also listed as cancelled in connection with work by the Rail Land Development Authority in Faridabad. The Gomti Express, Shramjeevi Express, Sealdah Rajdhani, Howrah Rajdhani, Vaishali Express and Magadh Express are among the trains listed for diversion.
A Vande Bharat service from Varanasi to New Delhi is scheduled to be regulated by 35 minutes in the National Capital Region on September 12. Several other trains, including the Tamil Nadu Express, Tejas Rajdhani services and the Rajendra Nagar Amrit Bharat service, have revised departure timings.
On September 13, several EMU services connecting Palwal, Ghaziabad, Delhi Junction, Sahibabad and Shakurbasti are scheduled to be cancelled. The Shiv Ganga Express, Meerut Cantt-Sri Ganganagar Special and selected passenger and EMU services are listed for route diversions. Some trains will terminate before their scheduled destination, including a Mathura-New Delhi EMU at Palwal and a Palwal-New Delhi EMU at Hazrat Nizamuddin.
Passengers are advised to verify their train number, route, departure time and originating or terminating station through the National Train Enquiry System before travelling. Railway information is also available through the 139 helpline. The operational plan is scheduled to remain in effect until September 13, although further changes may be issued by the railway authorities.
