The Delhi Development Authority has extended the booking deadline for flats under its Karmayogi Awas Yojana to 30 September 2026, giving eligible government employees, retirees and professionals more time to purchase ready-to-move homes at discounts of up to 25 percent.
The extension was announced through an official DDA circular, according to Live Hindustan. Bookings under the scheme are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning applicants do not have to wait for a draw of lots before securing a flat. The available inventory, however, may reduce before the revised deadline because the scheme is subject to the availability of units.
The extension is relevant to applicants who could not complete the booking process earlier or needed additional time to assess their finances and inspect the homes. The scheme is aimed at providing housing at concessional rates to specified groups, but the 25 percent discount is subject to eligibility conditions set by the DDA.
The flats were initially offered in Narela’s Sector A1-A4, Pocket 9. The authority later made additional homes available in Pocket 6. In a circular issued on 21 May, the DDA announced the addition of 1,552 flats in Pocket 13, with bookings for those units beginning on 1 June.
The location of the scheme places the availability of lower-cost housing within the wider expansion of Narela, one of Delhi’s planned peripheral urban areas. For applicants, the purchase decision involves more than the discounted price: the location, access to transport and services, possession status and the terms attached to eligibility remain important factors in evaluating a home.
