Central Railway Salutes Heroes of Operation Sindoor

In a stirring tribute to the valour of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, the Central Railway played the patriotic anthem “Vande Mataram” across digital display screens at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on Thursday.

The song echoed through the station, drawing the attention of passengers and staff, many of whom paused, joined in singing, or saluted the visual homage. The initiative at CSMT was part of a broader nationwide campaign by Indian Railways to express solidarity and gratitude to the armed forces. Operation Sindoor, recently conducted by the Indian Army, has become emblematic of India’s military resolve in defending national sovereignty under challenging conditions. Across the country, railway stations were illuminated in the vibrant hues of the Tricolour on May 14.

From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Assam, platforms and facades lit up in patriotic splendour as a symbolic gesture to honour the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces. Tiranga Yatras and light displays at key railway hubs further reinforced the message of national unity and pride. The Central Railway’s tribute at CSMT reflects a growing wave of public appreciation for the armed forces. Through sound and sight, it created a moment that momentarily transformed a busy transport hub into a space of collective reflection and patriotism.

Indian Railways’ gesture stands not just as homage, but also as a reminder of the strength and spirit of those who serve on the frontlines.
