Bokaro Speeds Up Voter Registration Ahead of October 10 Camp

The Bokaro administration has ordered officials to speed up voter registration and digitisation of Form-6 applications under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, with a district-wide mega voter camp scheduled for October 10.

District election officer and deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha issued the directions during a video conference reviewing the revision exercise. He asked electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers to accelerate the enrolment of eligible citizens and ensure that pending Form-6 applications are digitised and disposed of on time.

The administration has placed particular emphasis on identifying residents who became eligible to vote after turning 18 by October 1. Officials have been instructed to ensure that these first-time voters receive an opportunity to enrol during the revision process.

The October 10 camp will include help desks to assist residents with voter registration, documentation and form filling. The administration said the facilities are intended to make it easier for eligible citizens to complete the enrolment process and address documentation-related difficulties at the camp venues.

Jha also directed officials to monitor the digitisation of Form-6 applications regularly. Form 6 is used by eligible Indian citizens to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll. The instruction places the administrative focus not only on collecting applications but also on processing them within the revision exercise.

The district administration will publicise the voter camp through banners and social media. Officials have additionally been asked to identify areas requiring special enrolment camps, indicating that the outreach will be extended to locations where residents may need more direct assistance with registration.

The measures come as the Bokaro administration works to prevent eligible electors, particularly new voters, from being left out of the electoral rolls. The next scheduled public-facing step is the mega voter camp on October 10, when residents will be able to seek assistance with enrolment and related documentation.
