BMC Acts Against Unlicensed Wedding Venues

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed 17 marriage gardens across the city for operating without valid licences and failing to implement required safety measures.

The crackdown, carried out jointly by zonal officers, assistant health officers, and the anti-encroachment squad, follows earlier warnings issued to the violators. Civic teams inspected multiple locations, including Bhavya Manorama (Bhanpur Vidisha Road), Mannat Garden (Chola Road), Sarovar Wedding Hall (Kabarkhana), Crystal Marriage Garden and Whispering Farm (Data Colony), Rose Marriage Garden (Airport Road), and Shiv Sawariya Marriage Garden (Neelbad), among others. The inspections revealed that none of the sealed venues had obtained the mandatory permissions or complied with civic safety norms.

Officials confirmed that despite receiving notices from the corporation, the venue operators failed to regularise their operations. “All establishments were found in violation of licensing rules and safety protocols. Hence, sealing was carried out immediately,” said a BMC official involved in the operation. Municipal Commissioner has reiterated that no commercial activity will be permitted at any such venue unless it complies with all statutory requirements, including licences, fire safety, sanitation, and structural approvals.

This action is part of the BMC’s ongoing effort to enforce civic regulations and ensure public safety at commercial venues, especially during the busy wedding season.
