Bhopal Traffic Diversions Announced for MP Foundation Day Event

Bhopal traffic diversions and restricted parking will be enforced around Lal Parade Ground on Sunday, November 1, for Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations expected to draw large crowds, according to the Bhopal Traffic Police. The diversions for vehicles not carrying spectators will begin at 6pm.

Under the traffic plan, vehicles travelling between Court Square and Lal Parade Ground will not be allowed to use the direct route. They will be diverted through Link Road No. 1, Roshanpura, Banganga and Polytechnic Square. The arrangement is intended to separate general traffic from vehicles heading towards the event venue.

Traffic moving from Bharat Talkies towards New Bhopal will be diverted through Jinsi Square, Maida Mill Road and Board Office Square. Commuters will then be directed towards Link Road No. 1 or Link Road No. 2, depending on their onward destination.

Vehicles travelling from Roshanpura towards Old Bhopal will have to use the Banganga, Polytechnic Square, Retghat, Moti Masjid and Royal Market route. The diversions will affect key connections between central Bhopal, Old Bhopal and areas around the Lal Parade Ground during the evening event period.

The traffic police have issued separate access and parking instructions for spectators. People attending the programme from Old Bhopal can reach the venue through Royal Market, Moti Masjid, Retghat, Polytechnic Square and Gandhi Park. Spectators using this route will be able to park inside the Jail Headquarters premises.

Spectators arriving from Vallabh Bhavan, MP Nagar Square and Court Square can also park at the Jail Headquarters premises. They will enter the event venue through Satkar Gate. The gate is designated for spectator access and is located opposite the Home Guards office.

Special invitees with valid passes must enter through Satkar Gate and park behind the saluting dais at Lal Parade Ground. The instructions make access conditional on the possession of a valid special invitee pass.

Authorised media vehicles will have a separate entry through Vijay Gate and must park at the DIG SAF office. Media personnel have been instructed to carry both their authorised invitation and identity card while entering the designated area.

The traffic police have appealed to commuters to follow the diversion routes and parking directions to help maintain traffic movement during the celebrations. The department has provided a traffic helpline at 0755-2677340 for assistance. Members of the public can also send traffic-related information through WhatsApp to 7587602055.

The restrictions will apply around the event venue from 6pm on November 1, with the stated objective of managing vehicle movement and access during the Foundation Day programme.
