Bengaluru Water Complaints Get Direct BWSSB Phone-In on October 23

Bengaluru residents can directly raise drinking water, sewage, water meter and billing complaints with the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) during a phone-in programme on October 23.

The programme will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am under the leadership of BWSSB chairperson Dr Manjula N, IAS, according to a notice reported by Prajavani. Residents can speak directly about problems in their respective zones and areas during the one-hour session.

The complaints covered include drinking water supply issues and wastewater flowing out of sewage pipelines or manholes. Residents can also raise concerns related to water meters and water bills.

BWSSB has provided two telephone numbers for the programme: 080-22945119 and 080-22229639. Customers with an existing water connection have been asked to keep their RR number ready while registering a complaint.

The RR number is used to identify the relevant water connection and is expected to help the board link a complaint to the concerned customer account. The notice asked members of the public to use the direct phone-in facility to address their grievances.

The programme offers residents a direct channel to report service failures involving both water supply and sewerage, rather than limiting complaints to routine billing or connection-related queries. However, the announcement does not specify how complaints will be tracked after the call, the response time for individual cases, or whether unresolved issues will be reviewed through a follow-up mechanism.

Residents seeking to participate must call one of the two numbers during the scheduled 9:30 am to 10:30 am window on October 23 and provide their RR number when submitting complaints related to an existing water connection.
