Bengaluru Metro Extends T20 Match Services Till 1.30am

Bengaluru Metro services will run beyond their regular closing hours for T20 cricket spectators, with the final train from RV Road scheduled to depart at 1.30am and terminal-station services extended until 1.15am, according to a BMRCL advisory reported by the Times of India.

The extended operation is intended to help spectators travel home after the match. Regular Namma Metro services generally end at around 11pm, but the last trains from several terminal stations will operate later for the event.

The final trains from Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Bommasandra will leave at midnight. Services from Challaghatta, Silk Institute and Madavara will run until 12.15am. From Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, the last trains towards all four directions will depart at 1am.

The latest departure will be from RV Road, where the final train is scheduled for 1.30am. The timings give passengers arriving from different parts of the city a staggered set of departure options, although the last available train will depend on the station and direction of travel.

BMRCL has also arranged for a Namma Metro QR code to be embedded in digital match tickets. The code will support two-way travel for spectators using the metro for the match, according to the report.

Passengers have been advised to choose stations based on the stadium entry and exit gates printed or designated for the event. Spectators using the gates on Cubbon Road should use Cubbon Park station, while those entering or leaving through the Link Road gates should use Mahatma Gandhi Road station.

The station guidance is intended to distribute passenger movement between the two nearby stations and reduce confusion after the match. It also links the metro journey to the stadium’s gate arrangement, making the location of the return trip important for spectators planning their departure.

The extended service places the metro at the centre of the match-day travel plan, particularly for passengers travelling towards Whitefield, Bommasandra, Challaghatta, Silk Institute and Madavara. Passengers will need to reach the relevant station before its notified last-train departure time, as the terminal timings differ across the network.

BMRCL’s advisory covers the extended operating schedule, the digital-ticket QR arrangement and the recommended stations for the stadium gates. The special services will operate into the early hours following the T20 match.
