Bandra-Palitana Special Train Announced for Paryushan Travel

Western Railway will run a two-trip Bandra-Palitana special train to meet higher passenger demand during the Paryushan festival, while extending several special services connecting Mumbai with Ahmedabad and Indore, the railway zone said on Saturday.

Train No. 09023, the Bandra Terminus-Palitana Superfast Special, will depart from Bandra Terminus at 7:25 pm on Sunday, September 6, and reach Palitana at 9:25 am the following day. Its return service, Train No. 09024, will leave Palitana at 8 pm on Monday, September 7, and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 9:30 am on Tuesday.

The train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Botad, Dhola, Songadh and Sihor in both directions. Western Railway said the service would operate on a special fare and include Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.

The temporary service has been introduced to provide additional capacity during the festival period, when the railway expects passenger demand to rise. Western Railway has advised passengers to check the latest timings, stoppages and coach composition before travelling.

The railway zone has also extended the operating periods of three existing special train services. Train No. 09087, the Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Special, will operate until November 25, 2026, while its return service, Train No. 09088, will run until November 26.

The Mumbai Central-Indore Special services have also received extensions. Train No. 09079 will operate until November 29, with Train No. 09080 continuing until November 30. Another Mumbai Central-Indore service, Train No. 09085, has been extended until November 27, while its corresponding return service, Train No. 09086, will operate until November 28.

Bookings for the Bandra-Palitana special and the extended trips are available through Passenger Reservation System counters and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website. Western Railway said detailed information on schedules, stoppages and coach composition could be obtained through the Indian Railways enquiry system.
