Ayodhya Yatri Niwas Gets ₹80.25 Crore Push from Gujarat

Gujarat is building an Ayodhya Yatri Niwas at an estimated cost of ₹80.25 crore to provide accommodation and visitor facilities for pilgrims and travellers from the state, according to a report by Gujarat Samachar. The complex is being developed on 6,929.28 square metres of land within an under-construction township in Ayodhya.

The facility is planned to include 308 beds across different types of rooms and a large hall with seating capacity for 864 people. Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited (TCGL) is responsible for preparing the complex, the report said. Construction work has already started and the facility is expected to open to visitors within one year.

In addition to accommodation, the planned complex will include a reception centre, visitor lounge, souvenir shop, multipurpose hall, auditorium, meeting rooms and a large dining area. The design also provides for a terrace garden, digital displays and landscaped areas.

The project is intended to serve visitors travelling from Gujarat to Ayodhya for religious tourism. Its scale makes it more than a basic lodging facility, with spaces planned for dining, gatherings, meetings and visitor management. The 864-seat hall is expected to be one of the largest components of the complex by stated capacity, alongside the 308-bed accommodation block.

The report describes the project as part of the Gujarat government’s effort to provide dedicated facilities for pilgrims and strengthen the cultural and spiritual links between Gujarat and Ayodhya. It also states that the complex is being designed to offer visitors accommodation, hospitality and security during their stay.

The project comes as Ayodhya continues to receive visitors travelling for religious and cultural tourism. For state governments, dedicated facilities in major pilgrimage destinations can combine accommodation, group dining, visitor reception and event infrastructure in a single campus. In this case, the available report identifies Gujarat’s planned investment, land area, capacity and facilities, but does not provide details on the project’s construction agency beyond TCGL, its operating model, room tariffs, funding releases or the exact opening date.

According to the report, the Ayodhya Yatri Niwas is scheduled to be made fully available to pilgrims within the next year. Further details on construction milestones and operations are expected as work progresses.
