Ashoka Buildcon has emerged as the lowest bidder for two major contracts issued by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This move positions Ashoka Buildcon as a key player in enhancing the region’s transport network, with the total value of the contracts amounting to INR 1281 crore.
The contracts in question involve the construction of critical bridge infrastructure. The first project, valued at INR 289.60 crore, entails the design and construction of a creek bridge extending from Kolshet to Kalher. This bridge is expected to facilitate smoother traffic flow and bolster connectivity in the region. The second, and notably larger, contract is worth INR 991.20 crore. It involves the construction of a creek bridge linking Gaimukh to Payegaon, a project that will significantly enhance regional accessibility and infrastructure.
These projects are set to have a profound impact on Mumbai’s infrastructure landscape, promising improved connectivity and reduced traffic congestion. The development of these bridges aligns with MMRDA’s strategic goals to bolster urban infrastructure and support the growing demands of the city’s transportation network. In addition to Ashoka Buildcon’s success, Afcons Infrastructure has also been awarded two substantial contracts by the MMRDA.
These include the construction of a creek bridge from Kasarvadavli to Kharbav and an elevated road project connecting NH-4 Old to Katai Naka. Both projects are expected to contribute significantly to the region’s infrastructure, improving transit efficiency and supporting regional growth. The allocation of these contracts to prominent infrastructure firms underscores MMRDA’s commitment to enhancing Mumbai’s transport network. Ashoka Buildcon’s winning bid not only highlights its competitive edge but also its capacity to undertake large-scale infrastructure projects crucial for the city’s development.
