Ambegaon Gets ₹1.60 Crore Boost for Rural Roads and Public Works

Rural infrastructure in Pune’s Ambegaon taluka is set for a ₹1.60 crore upgrade after the Pune Zilla Parishad approved funding for roads connecting hamlets, sports grounds, retaining walls, sheds and other public facilities for 2026-27.

The approval covers works across several villages and was announced by Zilla Parishad vice-president Vivek Walse Patil. He said the projects had been sanctioned under the Zilla Parishad’s construction department in response to demands raised by local residents. The funding was approved under the guidance of former state cooperation minister Dilip Walse Patil, according to the report by Sakal – Pune.

Among the largest allocations are ₹10 lakh each for developing sports grounds at Pargaon and Jarkarwadi. Road works include concrete surfacing of the road from the Zilla Parishad school to the Waikar residence in Pahaddara, estimated at ₹5 lakh, and improvements to the Dhamani Madhyamal road and the Pondewadi-Nevalewasti road, each costing ₹10 lakh.

The approved list also includes ₹7 lakh for internal roads in Ranmala, ₹10 lakh for the Mandlewadi road connecting Vadgaon Pir to the residence of Tukaram Adak, and ₹10 lakh for the Valunj Nagar-Kansakarvasti to Savindane border road. The Nirgudsar-Belsarwadi Naraldev-Temkarmala road has received ₹8 lakh, while ₹10 lakh each has been sanctioned for the road from the Shingवे-Bharadi Road to Sai Mandir and Boratevasti in Jawale, and the road from Rajoba percolation tank to Daundvasti in Lakhanagaon.

Several smaller public works are included in the package. A retaining wall along the Gram 135 road between Bhaktacha Mala and Madhyamal in Pimpalgaon has been allocated ₹9.99 lakh. The Gram Panchayat premises at Pargaon Tarfe Khed has received ₹9.99 lakh for improvement, while ₹9.99 lakh has been set aside for a dining hall and shed at Nana-Nani Park in Avasari Budruk.

The package also covers concrete work on the Nanwade-Hilevasti road at ₹10 lakh and the Amondi-Bhairavnathvasti road at ₹5 lakh. A shed at Rajpur-Palkhewadi has been allocated ₹5 lakh, and ₹10 lakh has been sanctioned for construction of an akhada at Jambhori-Machiwadi.

The projects span different types of rural public infrastructure, from basic road connectivity to community, recreational and protective structures. For settlements located away from main roads, concrete surfacing and internal road upgrades are intended to improve access between homes, schools, villages and adjoining routes. The retaining wall and percolation-tank road works also address location-specific construction needs identified in the approved list.

Walse Patil asked that the sanctioned works be completed to a good and durable standard. He also urged residents to remain alert about the quality of construction. The next stage will involve implementation of the approved works through the Pune Zilla Parishad construction department.
