A hospitality establishment along the SG Highway has become one of the participants in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) incentive-based programme, opening two basement parking levels for free public access after enrolling for a property tax concession. The facility provides space for approximately 150 cars and 50 two-wheelers, reflecting a growing policy shift towards maximising existing infrastructure instead of creating additional parking through land-intensive projects. The shared parking initiative forms part of a broader effort to address increasing congestion generated by rapid commercial expansion along SG Highway. As office complexes, retail centres, healthcare facilities and hotels continue to attract higher daily vehicle volumes, roadside parking has emerged as a significant contributor to traffic bottlenecks and reduced road efficiency.
