Adani Solar to Boost Solar Manufacturing Capacity to 10 gw

The Adani Group, a prominent player in the energy sector, is embarking to boost
its integrated solar manufacturing capacity to 10 gw by 2027. This expansion aims
to capitalise on the burgeoning market for energy transition, signalling the
company’s commitment to renewable energy.

Currently, Adani Solar boasts a substantial solar manufacturing capacity of 4 gw.
With this new venture, the group intends to grow its capacity by 2.5 times, making
it a major player in the solar manufacturing industry.

In a promising development, Adani Solar has secured a confirmed order book
exceeding 3,000 mw for exports. These orders are expected to be fulfilled within
the next 15 months, underscoring the growing demand for their solar products in
both domestic and international markets.

This expansion by the Group is poised to play a pivotal role in bolstering India’s
solar energy generation capacity. Since its inception, Adani Solar has successfully
delivered over 7 gw modules. While India has made significant progress in increasing its solar energy capacity in recent years, the absence of a robust
manufacturing ecosystem has posed a significant challenge.

In less than six years, Adani Solar has managed to scale up its manufacturing
capacity from 1.2 gw for cells and modules to 4 gw for each category. This rapid
growth rate has positioned the company as one of the fastest-growing solar
manufacturing companies in terms of capacity expansion.
