Charlapalli–Raxaul Special Trains Add Festive Capacity

The South Central Railway has announced three special train services from Charlapalli to Raxaul and three return services to manage the additional passenger demand expected during Diwali and Chhath, offering a temporary rail connection between Hyderabad’s eastern transport network and Bihar during the festive period.

Train No. 07007, operating from Charlapalli to Raxaul, will depart at 3.15 pm on November 11, 18 and 25. The return service, Train No. 07008, will leave Raxaul for Charlapalli at 7.15 pm on November 13, 20 and 27.

The services have been announced for the Puja festival period, when passenger demand typically rises on routes linking southern cities with destinations in Bihar and adjoining regions. The announcement provides travellers with six additional scheduled journeys between the two terminals in November.

In both directions, the trains will stop at 21 stations. The listed stops are Kazipet, Ramagundam, Sirpur Kaghaznagar, Balharshah, Sewagram, Nagpur, Itarsi, Madan Mahal, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi and Bairagnia.

The route connects Charlapalli, a key rail terminal serving Hyderabad, with Raxaul in Bihar through major railway points in Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The intermediate stops also provide boarding and alighting options for passengers travelling to several cities along the corridor rather than only between the two terminal stations.

The special trains will include 3AC, Sleeper and General Second Class coaches. The mix gives passengers multiple travel-class options, but the announcement does not specify the number of coaches in each category, the fare structure, booking opening dates or the total seating and berthing capacity.

The additional services are part of the railway system’s seasonal response to concentrated passenger demand. Unlike a permanent timetable change, the announced trains are limited to the six dates specified by the South Central Railway. Travellers planning journeys on this corridor will therefore need to check the applicable reservation and operating details for their selected date before making travel arrangements.

The first service is scheduled to leave Charlapalli on November 11, followed by departures on November 18 and 25. The return services are scheduled from Raxaul on November 13, 20 and 27, completing the announced operating schedule for the festive period.
