Delhi Traffic Advisory Tightens Anand Vihar Routes Till 15 November

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a festive-season traffic advisory for Anand Vihar ISBT and nearby transport hubs, with special arrangements, diversions and parking restrictions in force from 5 to 15 November as passenger movement is expected to rise during Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja.

The advisory covers Road Number 56, also known as Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg, and Road Number 57, or Swami Dayanand Marg. Traffic diversions have been identified at Ghazipur Gol Chakkar and the Ramprastha–Vivek Vihar stretch to manage vehicle movement around the interstate bus terminal and connected roads.

Travellers heading towards NH-24, Sarai Kale Khan and Barapullah have been advised to use GT Road and the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway. People travelling towards Ghaziabad and Dilshad Garden have also been advised to use the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway from GT Road near Akshardham.

The traffic police has imposed a complete ban on parking and waiting on both sides of Road Number 56, particularly near the entry and exit points of Anand Vihar ISBT and its connecting roads. Private vehicle owners have been advised to use designated parking sites near the Maruti showroom in Kaushambi and parking facilities on DDA land near NH-24 on Kaushambi Road.

The restrictions are intended to address the expected increase in traffic linked to passengers returning home for the festive period and residents travelling for shopping and celebrations. The advisory asks motorists to plan their journeys in advance, leave home with additional time, avoid unnecessary travel into the ISBT area and use public transport wherever possible.

Drivers have also been asked to remain patient and follow instructions issued by traffic personnel deployed along the affected routes. The traffic police has warned that vehicles parked without authorisation may be removed and that legal action could follow.

The department has advised commuters to monitor real-time updates through the Delhi Traffic Police website, Facebook and Instagram pages, and its account on X. These channels will carry further information on traffic conditions, diversions and arrangements during the advisory period.
