Delhi Weather Tomorrow: Showers Likely, No Heavy-Rain Alert

Delhi weather tomorrow is likely to remain unsettled, with isolated to scattered showers forecast across the national capital and adjoining Haryana and Chandigarh on Saturday, October 31, according to the India Meteorological Department. The latest forecast does not indicate a specific heavy-rainfall or thunderstorm warning for Delhi-NCR.

The forecast follows fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity across Delhi-NCR on Friday. Residents may continue to experience changing weather conditions as the weather system affecting northwest and central India moves across the region. The IMD has also forecast rainfall over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan on Saturday.

The weather system behind the wider rainfall activity is the weakening remnant of Very Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Arnab’. It had weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over central Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha and is expected to move north-northeastwards during the next 24 hours. The system is forecast to weaken further into a low-pressure area over northeast Chhattisgarh and neighbouring areas.

Across central and eastern India, Chhattisgarh is likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall on Saturday, while Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal may see isolated to scattered showers. The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh during November 1 and 2. Odisha is expected to see another spell of heavy rainfall on November 1 and 3, with very heavy rainfall possible at isolated places on November 2.

The forecast also points to continued rainfall activity in several southern states. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal may receive showers, while Kerala, Mahe and parts of Karnataka are also likely to see rainfall. Gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, with gusts reaching 50 kmph, are expected over Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Telangana may experience a thundersquall on November 1 and 2, with winds reaching 50-60 kmph and gusting to 70 kmph.

For the Northeast, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday. The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh on November 2 and 3, and over Assam and Meghalaya on November 3. In Delhi-NCR, however, the current forecast remains limited to possible showers, without a specific heavy-rainfall or thunderstorm alert for Saturday.
