Delhi Concert Traffic Alert: JLN Stadium Roads Shut, Metro Extended

Delhi Traffic Police has announced restrictions and diversions around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30 for Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour 2026 concert, while the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will extend services until midnight to help disperse an expected crowd of approximately 70,000 spectators.

Traffic restrictions will remain in force from 1pm to midnight around JLN Stadium, Lodhi Colony and adjoining roads. Motorists have been advised to avoid affected stretches, plan journeys in advance and follow directions from traffic personnel. The affected roads include Bhishm Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Arch Bishop Marg, 4th Avenue Road, 5th Avenue Road, internal roads of the CGO Complex and roads around the stadium.

The restrictions will also cover the Barapullah Flyover stretch between INA and Jangpura Metro Station Gate No. 2, Dayal Singh College Road and internal roads in Lodhi Colony. At identified diversion points, vehicles will be redirected towards Lodhi Flyover, Aurobindo Marg, 4th Avenue Road, INA and other connecting routes depending on their direction of travel.

The traffic police has identified Arch Bishop Marg, Lal Masjid at Pragati Vihar and Kushak Nallah Bus Depot Red Light as designated drop-off and pick-up points for taxis, auto-rickshaws and app-based cabs. Spectators using Violet Line services can get off at JLN Stadium Metro Station for Gates 13, 14 and 17, or use Jangpura Metro Station for the same gates. Passengers arriving via the Yellow Line can use INA or Jor Bagh Metro stations and travel towards Kushak Nallah Bus Depot Red Light for Gates 3, 6 and 8.

General parking will not be available at or around the venue. Limited parking has been arranged for special invitees at Sunehri Pula Bus Depot and Dayal Singh College Parking. Other concertgoers have been advised not to bring private vehicles. Taxis, auto-rickshaws and app-based cabs will not be permitted to halt or park on roads near the stadium and must use the designated points.

The DMRC said services on all lines, except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro, Gurugram, will continue beyond normal operating hours until midnight. Additional train trips will be operated, with standby trains available if passenger numbers rise unexpectedly. The Delhi Metro Sarthi mobile application will also allow QR ticket purchases for an additional hour in line with the extended services.

Additional DMRC staff, customer service personnel, Customer Facilitation Agents and security personnel will be deployed at JLN Stadium station and key interchange stations. Door Frame Metal Detectors and enhanced screening arrangements will be used to regulate passenger movement. The traffic police has asked commuters to allow extra travel time, give unobstructed passage to emergency vehicles and check official traffic updates before starting their journeys. Assistance is available through the Delhi Traffic Police helpline at 1095, while emergencies can be reported on 112.
