Jewar Airport Adds Udaipur Flight, Connectivity Reaches 16 Cities

Jewar Airport has added direct IndiGo service to Udaipur, taking the Noida International Airport’s domestic network to 16 cities and increasing its reported daily aircraft movements to between 32 and 34.

According to the airport’s website, the Udaipur service began on Sunday. The flight to Udaipur departed at 1:30 pm, while the returning flight landed at Jewar at around 8 pm. The new connection links the airport in western Uttar Pradesh with Rajasthan’s major tourism and business destination.

Udaipur is the third city to be added to the Jewar Airport network in October, the report said. IndiGo began flights to Kolkata on October 1, while services to Chandigarh were also resumed during the month. The Chandigarh route had first been launched in July but was later temporarily suspended for unspecified reasons.

The addition of Udaipur comes as the airport continues to expand its domestic network. Before October, flights were available to 14 cities, with between 28 and 30 aircraft arrivals and departures reported each day. The airport now has daily services to Dehradun, Dharamshala, Jammu, Amritsar, Pantnagar, Udaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Bhopal.

Flights to Bareilly, Kishangarh and Chandigarh operate according to scheduled frequencies that may include alternate-day services, the report said. This means the total of 16 connected cities represents a mix of daily and less frequent operations rather than identical service levels across every route.

The expanding route map is significant for the airport’s role as a new regional aviation gateway. Jewar is being developed to serve Noida and the wider western Uttar Pradesh region, where access to major airports has historically depended heavily on road connections to Delhi and surrounding terminals. The available information does not establish how many passengers are using each route, but the increase in scheduled connections indicates that the airport is moving beyond its initial domestic network.

The airport is also preparing for international operations. The report said work on the international terminal is nearly complete and that equipment inspections are expected to begin in November. Officials have indicated that international flights may start from the New Year, with January identified as a likely period. The report did not provide a confirmed launch date, airline list, destination list or detailed operating schedule for those services.

Noida International Airport’s expansion is being presented by the authorities as part of a broader regional development effort. The airport is expected to strengthen links between western Uttar Pradesh and domestic as well as international destinations. Its wider economic effects, including possible changes in employment, investment and logistics activity, will depend on how quickly routes stabilise, passenger demand develops and the remaining facilities become operational.

For now, the confirmed development is the launch of the Udaipur route and the expansion of Jewar Airport’s reported domestic network to 16 cities. International operations remain subject to the completion of preparations and the final schedule announced by the airport and airlines.
