Ahmedabad Aadhaar Centres to Open on Sundays Across Seven Zones

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will operate seven Aadhaar service centres every Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, giving employees, students, traders and other residents an additional opportunity to access Aadhaar-related services outside regular working days.

The centres will be opened across Ahmedabad’s central, north, east, south, west, north-west and south-west zones, with one facility designated in each zone. The decision is intended to help residents who cannot set aside time for Aadhaar-related work during the working week.

According to the announcement reported by Gujarat Samachar – Ahmedabad, the Sunday service will be available at municipal facilities located across the city. The centres will provide the Aadhaar-related services available at the respective facilities.

In the central zone, the centre will operate at the Giridharnagar ward office near Rachna School, opposite Civil Hospital in Shahibaug. The north-zone facility will be at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan near Memco Crossroads on Naroda Road in Memco.

Residents in the east zone can visit the Amraiwadi sub-zonal office beside National Handloom near Swastik Crossroads. The south-zone centre will be located in the conference room on the first floor of the Maninagar zonal office, opposite the fire station at Rambagh, Maninagar.

The west-zone centre will operate from Room 415 on the fourth floor of the multi-level parking facility beside Navrangpura bus station. In the north-west zone, services will be available at the late Bansibhai Pranlal Patel Bodakdev sub-zonal office near Gurudwara Crossroads.

For the south-west zone, the designated centre is the Maktampura sub-zonal office beside the APMC Market near Vishala Crossroads on Sarkhej Road in Maktampura. The Sunday schedule gives residents a zonal point of access rather than requiring them to travel across the city for the service.

The move highlights the role of municipal facilities in extending access to essential identity-related public services beyond standard weekday hours. The seven centres are scheduled to remain operational every Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, according to the announcement.
