Adilabad IT Tower Nears Opening With Three Firms Seeking Space

The Adilabad IT Tower, a ₹60-crore commercial technology facility built on the outskirts of the Telangana town, is ready for inauguration and may open by the end of September, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle. Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu is expected to formally declare the building open.

The G+4 tower is located along National Highway 44, the Srinagar-Kanyakumari highway, and offers 50,000 square feet of space for commercial offices and related facilities. Its amenities include meeting halls, reception areas, lounges and a cafeteria.

The state government has received applications from three IT services companies seeking to establish units in the building, the report said. An IT company currently operating from a private building in Adilabad town may also shift to the new facility, although the report did not identify the company or confirm that a move has been finalised.

Startup companies have also reportedly shown interest in the plug-in infrastructure available at the tower. The facility is intended to provide ready commercial space for technology and related businesses, but the applications and reported interest do not yet establish how many companies will ultimately begin operations there.

The project’s proposed role is significant for Adilabad because technology employment and commercial office infrastructure have traditionally been concentrated in larger cities. A technology professional from the town told Deccan Chronicle that Adilabad has an available talent pool and could offer companies lower salary and operating costs than metropolitan locations. The professional also said existing technology workers could be interested in moving to the town because of its lower cost of living.

The same professional estimated that the tower could employ nearly 2,000 young people if operations develop as expected. That figure is an estimate rather than a confirmed employment commitment, and the report does not provide details about the companies’ proposed workforce, investment or start dates.

The project is also opening at a time when technology companies are reassessing staffing requirements amid the growing use of artificial intelligence. The professional questioned whether major IT companies would open branches in Adilabad while some institutions are reducing staff. This leaves the tower’s longer-term occupancy dependent on the scale and nature of the businesses that eventually take space there.

For the state government, the immediate milestone is the proposed inauguration at the end of the month. The next indication of the tower’s economic impact will be whether the three applicants, the reported private-building operator and interested startups convert their interest into signed occupancy and operational commitments.
