A 21-year-old woman and her 48-year-old father were killed after a container vehicle allegedly hit their motorcycle on Katedan Road in Hyderabad’s Mailardevpally on Wednesday night, police said.
The victims were identified as Bushra Begum and Ismail, residents of Attapur. They were travelling together on a motorcycle when the collision occurred, according to the report by Telangana Today.
An eyewitness identified as Sohel told the publication that the container vehicle was travelling at high speed when it hit the motorcycle and ran over the two riders. Bushra and Ismail died at the scene.
The crash occurred days before Bushra’s scheduled wedding, which was reportedly to take place early next month. The accident has left the family in mourning, according to the report.
Mailardevpally police reached the location after receiving information about the accident. The bodies were shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination.
Police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the circumstances of the collision, including the alleged speed of the container vehicle and the sequence of events on Katedan Road. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
