The Cyberabad civic body demolished 17 unauthorised structures and issued six notices during inspections across three zones on Wednesday, escalating its ongoing enforcement drive against building violations in Hyderabad’s expanding urban corridor.
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation enforcement teams identified 18 unauthorised constructions during field inspections, according to a press statement. The demolitions were carried out across the Quthbullapur, Serilingampally and Kukatpally zones, which together cover significant residential and commercial growth areas within the Cyberabad region.
Quthbullapur recorded the highest number of demolitions, with seven structures removed. Six demolitions were carried out in Serilingampally and four in Kukatpally. The civic body did not provide details about the individual properties, the nature of the violations, or whether the structures were residential, commercial or under construction.
The action follows inspections by CMC enforcement teams as part of a continuing effort to identify and process construction activity that does not comply with applicable building regulations. Of the 18 cases identified during the latest inspections, 17 resulted in demolitions while six notices were served. The statement did not clarify whether the notices related to cases included in the 18 identified constructions or to additional violations detected during the inspections.
CMC Commissioner G Srijana directed officials to maintain continuous field monitoring and ensure timely follow-up on reported violations. She also instructed officials to coordinate closely with enforcement teams as inspections continue across Cyberabad.
The enforcement drive places field-level monitoring at the centre of the civic body’s response to unauthorised construction. The latest action spans three zones rather than being limited to a single site, indicating that the corporation is conducting inspections across multiple parts of the municipal area. However, the civic statement did not disclose the total number of cases under investigation, the number of properties inspected, or the legal and procedural status of the demolished structures.
Unauthorised construction cases typically require civic authorities to identify the violation, issue notices where applicable and process each case under prescribed procedures and regulations. In the latest statement, the CMC said all identified cases would be processed under the applicable rules. It did not announce any changes to the building approval system or provide details of penalties, appeals or rehabilitation measures for affected occupants.
The commissioner said inspections and enforcement actions would continue across Cyberabad to curb unauthorised constructions and enforce building regulations.
