A Noida society dispute at Great Value Sharanam in Sector 107 has led to a police case against the apartment owners’ association president and four other office-bearers after a project company alleged that its employees were assaulted and threatened while carrying out painting work. The association has denied the allegation and said its team was instead surrounded by employees of the builder company.
Sector 39 police registered the case on a complaint by Great Value Projects employee Ramashankar Sharma, according to a report by Navbharat Times. The complaint names AOA president Abhishek Mittal, vice-president Anoop Pokhriyal, treasurer Puneet Kapoor, secretary Vishwaroop Malik and member Varun Kumar.
The company alleged that its employees had gone to the society to begin painting work. It also claimed that the association office-bearers used abusive language, assaulted staff members and demanded extortion. The report said the company alleged that workers Anurag Chaudhary, Sachin Sharma, Shujaat and others were subjected to misbehaviour, pushed and grabbed by the neck, and threatened with fatal consequences if they continued working.
According to the company’s account, painting work began at about 10.30 am on Tuesday. At around 3.30 pm, association office-bearers Anoop Pokhriyal, Varun Kumar and Puneet Kapoor allegedly reached the tower where work was underway. The company claimed that labourers were driven away from the site, bringing the work to a halt.
The dispute is linked to a longer disagreement over the handover and maintenance of the residential project. The company said efforts to hand over the society to the AOA had been under way since 2021, but that the association had declined to accept the handover on different grounds. The AOA had submitted a list of 50 works, the company said, after which it accepted the list and began carrying out the work.
The company claimed that 42 of those works had been completed. Facade repairs and fire-fighting-related work, however, were still pending, according to the report. The allegations place maintenance obligations, project handover and the condition of common infrastructure at the centre of the dispute.
The association has raised separate concerns about the condition of the society. It alleged that CCTV cameras across the complex were not functioning and that the towers had become dilapidated. The AOA said painting had been proposed only after a structural audit, indicating that it considered the work connected to wider safety and maintenance requirements rather than a standalone improvement.
Anoop Pokhriyal, the association’s vice-president, gave a different account of the incident. He said 10 to 15 people from the builder company had surrounded his team with the intention of assaulting them. He also said the association had complained to Sector 39 police but that no action was taken on its complaint.
