Rapido Parcel Rider Faces Harassment Allegation; Company Responds

New Delhi | September 10, 2026

A woman has alleged that a Rapido parcel delivery rider sent her an unsolicited “I love you” message and challenged her to complain to the company or police, prompting a public response from the Bengaluru-based mobility and delivery platform over customer safety and conduct.

Geetika Srivastava, who works in digital reputation and crisis communications, shared screenshots of the alleged exchange on LinkedIn and tagged Rapido co-founder Aravind Sanka. She questioned whether the rider would face consequences and whether the company’s customer-safety systems covered such behaviour.

According to the screenshots described in the report, the delivery partner initially messaged Srivastava asking how she was before sending the unsolicited message. Srivastava then warned him not to contact her again and said she would approach the police if he called or messaged her again.

“Vapas call ya msg kiya to police ko complaint karenge,” she wrote in the exchange, according to the screenshots. The rider allegedly replied, “Ha kardo. Jao. Repido me kar do. (sic)”

Srivastava later criticised what she described as the rider’s apparent lack of concern about a complaint. “Being a woman in this country is tough, but apparently now you can’t even book a single Rapido parcel delivery without being harassed by their delivery guys,” she wrote in her LinkedIn post.

She also asked why the rider appeared confident that a complaint would not have serious consequences and questioned the company’s process for selecting and supervising delivery partners. The post tagged Rapido’s co-founder and sought accountability for the alleged conduct.

Rapido responded to the LinkedIn post and said it was taking the matter seriously. “Hi Geetika, we are sorry to learn about the unpleasant experience you faced during your Parcel Delivery ride. We understand your concern regarding the reported Captain’s behavior, and we take such matters very seriously. Customer safety, dignity, and respect are our top priorities,” the company said.

The incident raises questions about how app-based delivery platforms manage direct communication between riders and customers, particularly when a service requires access to a customer’s phone number or other contact details. The material available in the report does not establish whether the rider was suspended, removed from the platform or otherwise disciplined.

The report also does not provide a police complaint number, an independent confirmation of the exchange beyond the screenshots shared by Srivastava, or a detailed account of Rapido’s internal investigation. The company’s public response confirms that it was aware of the allegation but does not state what action, if any, was taken against the delivery partner.

Rapido’s next steps, including any investigation outcome or enforcement action, remain to be established.
