The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will publish scorecards for its 2025 direct recruitment examination on September 11 after a Bombay High Court order allowed the recruitment process for 668 posts across 30 cadres to move ahead. The result concerns candidates who appeared for the online examination conducted in July.
The municipal corporation will make the scorecards available on its official website. Appointments will be made only against available vacancies, excluding posts currently occupied by employees working on a contractual basis, according to the recruitment update reported by Loksatta.
The recruitment advertisement for regular Group C and Group D posts was issued on March 27, 2025. The number of vacancies in the Junior Engineer (Civil) cadre was subsequently increased through a corrigendum published on April 29. Across the 30 cadres, the corporation received 84,774 applications.
The examination was conducted online through TCS iON between July 16 and July 19 at 28 centres. Of the applicants, 68,149 candidates attended the examination. The test was objective and multiple-choice based.
The publication of the results had been held back after employees working with the civic body on a contractual basis filed a petition challenging the recruitment process before the Bombay High Court. On August 25, the court had directed that the examination marksheet should not be published, temporarily preventing the municipal corporation from releasing the scores.
Following the subsequent court order, the corporation has received permission to continue the recruitment process. The latest update clears the way for the scorecards to be released, although the appointments will remain limited to vacancies that are available after excluding posts held by contractual employees.
The recruitment process covers the regular establishment of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and is separate from appointments made under contractual arrangements. The scorecards scheduled for September 11 will provide candidates with their examination performance before the corporation proceeds with the next stages of recruitment.
